Assateague Island National Seashore spans both Maryland and Virginia coasts. In Virginia, the park is open January-March: 6 am - 6 pm.; April: 6 am - 8 pm.; May-September: 5 am - 10 pm.; October: 6 am - 8 pm.; and November-December: 6 am - 6 pm. For Virginia information, call (757) 336-6577.

The Toms Cove Visitor Center is located on the south side of Beach Road, prior to the beach parking areas. TheVisitor Center is open March - November 7 days a week; December - February the center is open Friday through Monday. Hours are: Winter, Spring & Fall: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. and Summer: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Center is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas days.

Vehicle: $5.00 - 1 Day
Vehicle: $15.00 - 7 Days
Vehicle: $30.00 - Refuge Annual Pass, valid 1 year from purchase.
Vehicle: $30.00 - USFWS Migratory Waterfowl Duck Stamp ($15.00) plus beach parking fee ($15.00)

The following passes are also valid:

Vehicle: $80.00 - America the Beautiful-National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, valid 1 year from purchase
Vehicle: $10.00 - America the Beautiful-National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass, 62 years and older, lifetime
Vehicle: Free - America the Beautiful-National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Access Pass, permanent disability, lifetime
